Warren Museum is based around stories of people in Warren from the past and present. It is an exhibition that adopts new approaches to interpretation, technology and visitor journey.
The concept was to deliver an experiential journey celebrating Warren and the Macquarie River. Wammerawa (Macquarie River) is the lifeline for all inhabitants of the area, it has provided and continues to provide habitats and sustenance for millennia. Using the river that runs through Warren as the central element that similarly runs through the Museum links the exhibition deeply to the locality and the river as a connector of themes and place.
The projection imagery shows the river during times of drought and the river coming back to life. The type of wildlife and its sounds reflect the diversity of fauna during various seasons. The projection changes and morphes, evoking the many qualities of water as it changes form. The entwining patterns of water streams, estuaries and rivers travel and creep across the wall.
The exhibition is appealing to all, reflecting the diversity and complexity of the river and town. It enables the visitor to reach their own conclusions through side-by-side placement of circumstances.
